Abubakar Hamid Danlami, Ph.D

Dr. Abubakar Hamid Danlami is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, School of Arts and Sciences, at the American University of Nigeria, Yola. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Economics from Bayero University, Kano, in 2009 and 2014 respectively, and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in 2017. He also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the Federal College of Education, Kano, between 2009 and 2010, and received professional training in Computer Operations and Data Processing at WDI Institute of Information Technology in 2008–2009.

Dr. Danlami has published extensively in reputable international journals indexed in SCOPUS and ISI, including publications with globally recognized publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Emerald. He has presented papers at numerous international conferences and participated in several academic workshops.

He is a member of the Nigerian Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence (NigeriaLics) and has served as a resource person for international workshops jointly organized by Mizan-Tepi University (Ethiopia), Poornima University (India), and the MathTech Thinking Foundation. Notably, he was part of the research team that successfully secured an NRF 2020 research grant.

Dr. Danlami has held various administrative responsibilities at departmental and faculty levels. He has supervised one Ph.D. and seven M.Sc. students to completion and served as an internal examiner for two Ph.D. and eight M.Sc. candidates at Bayero University, Kano. He has also served as an Ad-hoc Data Analyst for the Afreximbank, Cairo, and has been an active reviewer for several high-impact journals since 2016.

With a strong academic and research background, Dr. Danlami teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. His research interests include Energy Economics, Agricultural Economics, Islamic Finance, and Applied Microeconometrics.
