Abstract

The indecision about an answer to the question ‘Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?’  led to the research for the conclusion on the topic. Previous research and numerous articles exist on the subject; however, a clear answer has not been obtained, largely due to the differing views presented and contrasting knowledge. Data from credible online sources, religious texts, and articles were used in this paper, and the comparative method was used to compare each view to find gaps and unity between them. Some views were of the fact that the egg came first; however, they were discounted due to the fact that the case in question was of the hard-shelled egg, in which case, the chicken was proven to come first. This study is significant in the fact that it asks deep questions about origin, cause and effect, and even evolution. The results provide a clear and better understanding of life as we know it!
