Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

The AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship) publishes scholarly empirical, theoretical, and review articles dealing with management. Manuscripts that are suitable for publication in the journal cover areas such as business strategy and policy, entrepreneurship, human resource management, organizational behavior, organizational theory, and research methods.

The following brief checklist provides a quick reference for you to follow during your submission and manuscript review process.

  • Papers submitted should not be under concurrent consideration at another journal.
  • Any actual or potential data overlap with previous studies should be noted and described in the letter to the Editor. In order to maintain masked review, provide an anonymized data transparency table describing actual or potential data overlap. 
  • All new manuscripts should be submitted electronically. Electronic submissions should be uploaded to the Journal of Management by accessing.
  • Files should be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
  • All manuscripts must adhere to the AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship.
  • All authors of quantitative manuscripts will attest that their submission meets the respective data reporting requirements as specified on the Journal’s homepage.
  • Papers that violate the spirit of the guidelines (e.g., papers that are single-spaced, papers that use footnotes rather than conventional referencing formats, papers that greatly exceed 50 pages), or which do not clearly fit the mission of the journal will be immediately returned to authors without being reviewed.
  • Authors should keep in mind that papers are evaluated on a page-to-contribution ratio.
  • We encourage you to have a colleague peer review any paper prior to submission to the Journal of Management. To maintain masked review, please acknowledge your peer reviewer(s) and include other author notes in the letter to the Editor.
  • During the review process, including at the Conditional Accept stage, manuscripts may be subject to additional methodological screening that may require the submission of additional information (e.g. analysis code; analysis output; original data). 
  • Accepted papers must fully adhere to the guidelines.
  • Changes in authorship (e.g. addition; subtraction; change in order) during a revision process must be clearly explained in a letter to the Editor.

AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship

If AI was used in in the writing of a manuscript, production of images or graphical elements of the paper, or in the collection and analysis of data, AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship requires authors to disclose which tool was used and how it was used in the Methods Section of all versions of the paper. If the editorial team assesses that the use of AI has compromised the integrity of any aspect of a paper published by (or accepted/under review at) AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship, the paper may be retracted (rejected). In addition, any breach of publication ethics may result in the retraction of a published paper, the rejection of a paper accepted or under review, or other actions necessary to ensure AUN Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship maintains the highest standards of research integrity while publishing rigorous, novel, and relevant research.

Points of Interest

  • Submissions will be acknowledged via email upon receipt. We strive to make an editorial decision in under 90 days, but circumstances beyond our control occasionally dictate a longer cycle.
  • Each paper is typically reviewed by at least two reviewers and is also read by the action editor (either the Editor or an Associate Editor). Results of our decision, along with copies of the reviews, will be forwarded to the contact author as quickly as possible.
  • If authors are invited to prepare a revision for further consideration, our letters of invitation will outline the key issues to be resolved and an assessment of the likelihood of success.
  • Authors are normally given three to six months from the date of the invitation to prepare a revision. Our policy is to strive to make a final publication decision after one or two revisions (of course, further work may also be requested to resolve any remaining issues).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

    Manuscript Originality

    Manuscripts submitted to the AUN Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship (AUN-JBE) must be original, unpublished works that are not under consideration elsewhere. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and avoids plagiarism in any form.

    Formatting and Style

    All manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition formatting guidelines.

    General requirements:

    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
    • Spacing: Double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides
    • Alignment: Left-aligned (not justified)
    • Page numbers: Bottom center of each page
    • File format: Microsoft Word

    Manuscript Structure

    A typical manuscript should include the following sections in order:

    Title Page

    Title of the paper

    Author(s) full name(s) and institutional affiliation(s)

    Email address of the corresponding author

    ORCID ID (if available)

    Abstract

    Maximum of 250 words

    Should clearly summarize the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications of the study

    Keywords

    4 to 6 keywords listed immediately after the abstract

    Introduction

    Background, problem statement, objectives, and significance of the study

    Literature Review

    Overview of relevant theories and previous research

    Methodology

    Research design, data collection methods, sample description, and analytical procedures

    Results and Discussion

    Presentation, analysis, and interpretation of findings

    Conclusion and Recommendations

    Summary of findings, implications for practice or policy, and suggestions for future research

    References

    All citations must conform to APA 7th Edition referencing style

    Tables and Figures

    Should be clearly labeled and placed close to where they are first cited in the text

    Each table or figure must include a descriptive title and source (if applicable)

    1. Word Count

    Manuscripts should typically range between 4,000 and 7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

    1. Review Process

    All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Submissions are first screened for relevance, originality, and quality, followed by review from at least two qualified experts in the field.

    Ethical Guidelines for Authors

    The AUN Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship (AUN-JBE) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and expects all authors to adhere strictly to principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability in the research and publication process.

    1. Originality and Plagiarism

    Authors must ensure that their submissions are entirely original works and that any materials or ideas derived from other sources are properly cited or quoted in line with APA 7th Edition guidelines.

    Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data fabrication will be immediately rejected.

    The journal reserves the right to use plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions.

    2. Multiple or Redundant Submission

    Authors must not submit the same manuscript or substantially similar work to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting a paper that has already been published or is under review elsewhere constitutes unethical publishing behavior and will not be tolerated.

    3. Authorship and Contribution

    Authorship should accurately reflect the individual contributions to the research and writing of the manuscript.

    • Only individuals who made significant contributions (conceptualization, analysis, drafting, or revising the paper) should be listed as authors.
    • The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version before submission.

    4. Acknowledgment of Sources

    Authors must give proper credit to all sources of data, ideas, or funding used in the research. Any form of borrowing, quotation, or adaptation must be acknowledged.

    5. Conflicts of Interest

    Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. Such disclosures should be stated in a separate section at the end of the paper or in a cover letter.

    6. Data Integrity and Transparency

    Authors are required to present their results truthfully and accurately. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited. Authors should also be prepared to provide raw data or supporting documentation if requested during the review process.

    7. Corrections and Retractions

    If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction as appropriate.

    8. Compliance with Institutional and Legal Standards

    Research involving human participants, surveys, or secondary data must comply with relevant institutional, ethical, and legal guidelines. Where applicable, authors should indicate that ethical approval was obtained.

    9. Editorial Independence

    Authors should respect the independence of the editorial and peer-review process and refrain from any attempt to influence editorial decisions through improper means.

    The AUN Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship is committed to fostering a culture of academic honesty and responsible scholarship. Violations of these ethical standards may lead to manuscript rejection, publication retraction, or notification to the author’s institution.
