journals.aun.edu.ngEthical Guidelines for Authors
The AUN Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship (AUN-JBE) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and expects all authors to adhere strictly to principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability in the research and publication process.
1. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their submissions are entirely original works and that any materials or ideas derived from other sources are properly cited or quoted in line with APA 7th Edition guidelines.
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data fabrication will be immediately rejected.
The journal reserves the right to use plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions.
2. Multiple or Redundant Submission
Authors must not submit the same manuscript or substantially similar work to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting a paper that has already been published or is under review elsewhere constitutes unethical publishing behavior and will not be tolerated.
3. Authorship and Contribution
Authorship should accurately reflect the individual contributions to the research and writing of the manuscript.
- Only individuals who made significant contributions (conceptualization, analysis, drafting, or revising the paper) should be listed as authors.
- The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version before submission.
4. Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must give proper credit to all sources of data, ideas, or funding used in the research. Any form of borrowing, quotation, or adaptation must be acknowledged.
5. Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. Such disclosures should be stated in a separate section at the end of the paper or in a cover letter.
6. Data Integrity and Transparency
Authors are required to present their results truthfully and accurately. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited. Authors should also be prepared to provide raw data or supporting documentation if requested during the review process.
7. Corrections and Retractions
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction as appropriate.
8. Compliance with Institutional and Legal Standards
Research involving human participants, surveys, or secondary data must comply with relevant institutional, ethical, and legal guidelines. Where applicable, authors should indicate that ethical approval was obtained.
9. Editorial Independence
Authors should respect the independence of the editorial and peer-review process and refrain from any attempt to influence editorial decisions through improper means.
The AUN Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship is committed to fostering a culture of academic honesty and responsible scholarship. Violations of these ethical standards may lead to manuscript rejection, publication retraction, or notification to the author’s institution.
